Abstract
Introduction: All cancer is identified through the disorganized and disordered development of cells that achieve the ability to intensify. The cells are uncontrollable and quite aggressive, encouraging the formation of malignant tumors, among which is breast cancer. It is identified as a malignant tumor that evolves from the disordered and accelerated proliferation of the organ's cells, which can develop in peripheral tissues or expand to distant places in the body. According to the WHO (World Health Organization), there was an increase in breast cancer in the 80s and 90s and may be responses to socioeconomic transformations, in addition to other risk factors such as gender, family history, obesity, menopause, age, history of breast cancer, ovarian cancer and genetic changes. Objective: To identify the main challenges faced and the strategies adopted for the early detection of breast cancer in the city of Manaus-AM. Methodology: This is an integrative literature review, data collection will be carried out through productions published through the following databases: Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO), Virtual Health Library (VHL), Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences (LILACS), FT Journal and Brazilian Journal of Development, excluding articles that did not meet the aforementioned criteria. Conclusion: The findings highlighted several challenges, including the difficulty of access to health services, low coverage of early detection strategies, and weaknesses in the execution of tests such as colposcopies and biopsies. Research has shown the importance of prevention and early detection of breast cancer to reduce mortality among women. The main actions involve clinical examination, mammography, as well as health education, involving lectures at the Basic Health Units (UBS). The Amazonas State Department of Health (SES-AM), encourages self-examination and medical consultations, in front of changes and the Federal Institute of Amazonas (IFAM) develops active tracking and awareness measures.
