Abstract

Adolescence is a phase of intense physical, emotional, and social transformations that make young people more vulnerable and susceptible to risky behavior. In this context, sexual education stands out as a fundamental tool to promote conscious choices, prevent sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and reduce teenage pregnancy. Comprehensive Sexual Education (CSE), which considers biological, emotional, social, and ethical aspects of sexuality, is supported by scientific evidence and international guidelines such as those of UNESCO. This work uses experience reporting as a methodological approach, valuing the knowledge produced in extension practice. The intervention was developed by medical students at a public school, with second-year high school students, and aimed to promote sexual health education in a playful, participatory, and accessible way. The methodology included dialogued exposition, a human board game, true or false dynamics, and space for anonymous questions. These strategies sought to stimulate critical thinking, interaction, and acceptance of adolescents' doubts. During the event, students demonstrated great interest and engagement, revealing gaps in their knowledge, but also a willingness to learn. Simple language, respect for diversity, and active listening were essential to create a safe and trusting environment. For medical students, the experience enabled them to develop communication skills, empathy, teamwork, and a sense of social responsibility. It is concluded that educational actions like this are effective and necessary to address inequalities in access to health information. In addition, they reaffirm the transformative role of university extension in medical training, contributing to a more ethical, critical, and humanized practice, aligned with the real needs of the population.
