Abstract
This article aims to conduct a literature review on the relationship between the COVID-19 pandemic and the increase in anxiety disorders in children, with an emphasis on potential causes, effects, and therapeutic interventions. To this end, PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science were used as search engines, utilizing the keywords "COVID-19, Anxiety disorders, Children, Psychological impact." The review revealed that the pandemic brought significant challenges to children's mental health, with a considerable increase in the prevalence of anxiety disorders in children and adolescents. Social isolation, changes in daily routines, fear of contagion, loss of loved ones, and uncertainty about the future were key factors contributing to the onset and worsening of these disorders. Furthermore, it was observed that psychological support, educational adaptation, and the implementation of coping strategies, such as promoting physical activities and reducing exposure to negative information, are essential to mitigate the effects of the pandemic on children's mental health.
