Abstract

Rehabilitation with the placement of implants in edentulous areas has grown in dentistry, with patients aiming for aesthetic and functional dental rehabilitation, whether partial or total rehabilitation. However, tooth extraction leads to a morphological remodeling of the ridge, reducing the vertical height in relation to the original position of the tooth, which can make it difficult to place implants when the ridge is not preserved. The objective of the present study is to report a clinical case of alveolar preservation with bone graft, late implant installation and fixed prosthesis placement. Female patient, 42 years old, complained of a tooth fracture. After clinical and imaging examinations, extraction of the element was indicated. In the first surgical stage, bone preservation was carried out through the placement of biomaterial with a membrane and later the installation of an implant in an already healed alveolus. After 90 days, the patient was released for the fabrication of the definitive prosthesis. Surgical success was obtained through a correct diagnosis, planning and choice of technique, ensuring that the patient was rehabilitated and presented satisfactory aesthetic and functional results.
