Gestão integrada de cuidados: desafios e estratégias para equipes multidisciplinares no Sistema Único de Saúde

Abstract

This is an integrative literature review. It was possible to structure the following guiding question: “What are the challenges and strategies for multidisciplinary teams in the SUS for integrated care management?”. A survey was carried out through the electronic library, the Virtual Health Library (VHL), and the following databases were selected: Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS), Medical Literatures Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE), and Nursing Databases (BDENF). Thus, the descriptors consulted in the Science and Health Descriptors (DeCS) in November 2024 were used, namely: “Unified Health System”, “Patient Care Team” and “Health management”, using the Boolean operator AND between the descriptors when combined. After applying the eligibility criteria, ten selected articles were used in total. According to the studies found, the formation of multidisciplinary teams, composed of professionals from different areas of knowledge, is one of the pillars of integrated care management. By bringing together doctors, nurses, nutritionists, social workers and others, it is possible to offer more complete and personalized care, considering the various dimensions of the individual's health. However, the implementation of this strategy faces several challenges, such as the lack of financial resources, the shortage of qualified professionals and the difficulty of integrating information systems. Integrated care management emerges as a fundamental paradigm for the optimization of health services in the Unified Health System. The construction of multidisciplinary teams, with the collaboration of professionals from different areas, has proven to be a promising strategy for promoting comprehensive and patient-centered care. However, the implementation of this approach faces complex challenges, which demand innovative solutions and a joint effort from all stakeholders.
