Abstract

This study aims to perform an epidemiological analysis of work-related cancer in the Southeast region of Brazil. Data were obtained via access to the digital platform of the Department of Information Technology of the Unified Health System (DATASUS). Data were collected regarding the Southeast region of Brazil over the last 5 years. With the treatment of the data obtained, it was possible to obtain the results of this study that demonstrate a greater number of cases of work-related cancer in the male population, with a total of 1,228 cases. Regarding race, there was a predominance of the disease in white people and the age group most affected by health issues was 65 to 79 years. Therefore, this study concluded that work-related cancer is a current public health issue that affects the entire population of this macro-region, requiring a new look from the responsible agencies to prevent new cases.
