Abstract

The article addresses the psychological impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting the challenges faced by different population groups and the negative effects on mental health. According to the studies analyzed, the pandemic has generated a significant increase in cases of anxiety, depression, stress, and sleep disorders, due to social isolation, disruption of daily routines, and fear of contagion. Health professionals, essential workers, people with chronic diseases, and the elderly have been the most affected, with a disproportionate impact on their mental health. The study also discusses the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to addressing these challenges, including promoting access to mental health services, psychosocial support, and self-care practices. Raising awareness of available resources and reducing stigma related to mental health problems are key to mitigating the long-term negative effects of the pandemic. The article highlights that, despite the difficulties, community resilience and strengthening social support are crucial for collective recovery.
