Abstract
Introduction: This article aims to clarify the relevance and main surgical techniques used to correct injuries that affect hands and fingers. Methodology: It consists of an exploratory, integrative literature review, based on a bibliographic survey of files published in the last five years, in the following databases: Virtual Health Library (VHL); National Library of Medicine (PubMed MEDLINE), Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO) and EbscoHost. Results and Discussion: Injuries to the hands and fingers can be congenital, acquired or traumatic. Such injuries have a significant impact, as they affect anatomical structures essential for daily and work activities. This study addresses the aforementioned injuries in the upper limbs, in a diverse and comprehensive way, reporting the surgical corrections used in injuries to the hands and fingers. Conclusion: It is concluded that the choice of the ideal method depends on several factors, such as the location and characteristics of the lesion, associated injuries, patient comorbidities, their characteristics, as well as the surgeon's preferences. Therefore, it is understood that the return of functionality and satisfaction of patients undergoing hand and finger surgery depends on a correct technique used, and a humanized approach on the part of professionals.
