Abstract
Due to the increased demand for esthetic procedures in Dentistry, tooth bleaching has emerged as an effective solution for re-establishment the smile esthetics. This is a minimally invasive procedure that improves the color of teeth without causing additional loss of tooth structure, and is more economical in comparison to veneers or crowns confection. The causes of stains can be extrinsic or intrinsic and can arise during eruption or due to pulp trauma, necrosis, or remnants of endodontic materials. Treatment can be carried out using the mediate, immediate, or combined techniques, choosing the most appropriate approach based on clinical and radiographic assessment. The aim of this study was to report a clinical case of whitening of a non-vital upper right lateral incisor using the combined technique. A 38-year-old female patient came to the clinic reporting discomfort and dissatisfaction about the color of tooth 12. The proposed treatment was the combined technique of mediate (walking bleaching with sodium perborate 20% and distilled water, Whiteness Perborato - FGM) and immediate (internal and external bleaching with hydrogen peroxide 35%, Whiteness HP 35% - FGM). The combination of techniques proved effective, successfully re-establishment the esthetics of the patient's smile and addressing her complaint and dissatisfaction. The conclusion is that the choice of technique should take into account the clinical and radiographic assessment and the patient's main complaint, correlating the techniques and materials available.
