Abstract
The search for aesthetic treatments using non-invasive techniques has resulted in the popularization of composite resin restorations applied directly to anterior and posterior teeth. Dental veneers using composite resins are more widely used in dental offices and can be completed in a process that takes an entire day, which is more beneficial than nanoparticle composite resins and composite materials with fine and large particles. The objective of this study is to understand the periodontal implications, signs and situations in which the use of composite resin veneers is not recommended. For the preparation of this literary review study, the facets can be carried out using two different techniques, namely: the direct technique and the indirect technique. In indirect techniques, porcelain and ceramics can be used as materials of choice. The direct technique uses composite resin as a restorative material, which has the advantage of providing adequate tooth morphology, color, optical properties such as translucency and opacity, and mechanical resistance in the event of fracture and wear.
