Abstract

This article aims to describe the analysis of quality of life in patients undergoing renal replacement therapy. This is an integrative review using the VHL and PubMed as a database over the last 10 years. 6 articles on the topic were evaluated with an emphasis on a synthesis of the most recent knowledge and greater scientific consistency. It is concluded that kidney transplantation has a better quality of life compared to patients undergoing renal replacement therapy. However, when a transplant is not possible, the choice between hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis will be determined after an analysis of several factors, including the patient's standard of living, which may provide them with a better quality of life.
