SURVEY AND ANALYSIS OF PUBLICATIONS REGARDING PHARMACEUTICAL CARE

Abstract

Pharmaceutical care is defined as a model of practice carried out by the pharmacist that comprises attitudes, ethical values, behaviors, skills, commitments and co-responsibilities in disease prevention, health promotion and recovery, in an integrated manner with the health team. In 2002, a national concept for pharmaceutical care was proposed, which considers health promotion and, within it, health education, as components of the concept of pharmaceutical care. In view of this, the concept of pharmaceutical care suggests changes in the predominant professional practice. This process of change with the implementation of the new concept of professional performance has been evaluated in several countries and several works carried out, most of which point to problems for the realization of this change. The objective of the work was to analyze the scientific publications on pharmaceutical care, carried out an analysis of the articles published on pharmaceutical care, using Scielo and LILACS as a data source, the search was carried out using the keyword pharmaceutical care and analyzed the works of the last ten years. A complete analysis of the works preceded and the selection took place through the analysis of the “abstract”, collecting data on languages, article title, country and year of publication, methodology used in the article, population studied, intervention and outcome. According to the search in the Scielo and Lilacs databases, 50 articles and 118 articles were found respectively, totaling 168 articles evaluated. Despite the small number, the analyzed studies have shown positive clinical results, with those with a follow-up time longer than six months being the most effective, regardless of the method adopted.
