Abstract

The article addresses the importance of pediatric oncology, highlighting recent advances in childhood cancer treatment, such as immunotherapy and early diagnosis, which have improved survival rates. However, it underscores the significant challenges faced by survivors, including physical complications like cardiovascular diseases, pulmonary dysfunctions, and endocrine problems, as well as reproductive, cognitive, and musculoskeletal issues. The mental and psychological health of these individuals is also discussed, with high rates of anxiety disorders, depression, and PTSD among survivors, exacerbated by socioeconomic challenges. The article emphasizes the need for a holistic approach in the care of these patients, including psychological support, physical rehabilitation, and socioeconomic guidance, along with long-term follow-up programs to manage the adverse effects of treatment. The conclusion highlights the importance of investing in continuous research and comprehensive support programs to improve the quality of life of survivors, promoting an integrated and multidisciplinary approach to meet their complex and diverse needs.
