Abstract

This article aims to explore the current medical literature on behavioral changes and psychiatric symptoms related to the postpartum period. The following databases were used: PubMed, Scielo, Uptodate, ScienceDirect and Google Scholar. After selection, the articles were subjected to inclusion and exclusion criteria to produce a systematic review. It is concluded that behavioral changes in the postpartum period result in significant dysfunctions to the quality of life, functionality and general health of patients and their offspring.
