Abstract
Tumors of the nasal cavity are usually invasive and difficult to diagnose due to their location. Chondrosarcoma is a very aggressive malignant neoplasm that originates from chondrocytes and chondroblasts and has a poor prognosis. The present article aims at reporting the case of a 15-year-old castrated male Border Coollie dog that presented a history of unilateral nasal epistaxis on the left side with no facial deformity initially. Hematological, radiographic, cytological, rhinoscopic, and histopathological exams were performed, and the diagnosis of chondrosarcoma of the nasal cavity was confirmed. Although radiotherapy associated with chemotherapy and pain management are the most used methods of treatment, and very successful for the survival of cancer patients. In the present report, the patient had clinical follow-up until he was euthanized. The objective of this study was to report the occurrence of the neoplasm in the facial sinuses and describe the clinical evolution of the case until the death of the animal.
