Abstract

The therapeutic approach to AD is constantly evolving, ranging from pharmacological advances to innovative strategies aimed at improving neuroplasticity. This diversity of therapeutic options reflects an ongoing effort to offer more effective and comprehensive treatments for those affected by AD, highlighting the importance of continuously developing therapeutic strategies in this challenging scenario. The aim of this study was to identify therapeutic approaches aimed at preventing the progression of Alzheimer's disease. A systematic literature review was carried out using the Scielo, Lilacs and Medline databases. In conclusion, therapeutic approaches to Alzheimer's disease are diverse and constantly evolving. Although there have been promising advances, especially in pharmacological strategies such as the use of monoclonal antibodies, gene therapy and nanotechnology, challenges remain, including variation in the effectiveness of specific treatments and the ongoing need to assess potential long-term adverse effects.
