Abstract
Diabetes Mellitus tipo 2 é uma doença globalmente prevalente. Fatores de risco incluem tabagismo, consumo de álcool, obesidade e hipertensão, sendo mais prevalentes em homens. No entanto, embora haja o impacto do fator socioeconômico, esse é pouco explorado no contexto mundial e brasileiro. Portanto, esse estudo objetiva explorar a relação dos fatores socioeconômicos no desenvolvimento e tratamento do diabetes Mellitus tipo 2. Para tanto, foi realizada uma revisão sistemática cujo critério de busca foi a influência dos fatores socioeconômicos no diabetes mellitus tipo 2. Para esse fim, bancos de dados eletrônicos foram consultados como EBSCO, PubMed, BVS e Google Acadêmico, incluindo artigos publicados no entre os anos de 2019 a 2023. Por conseguinte, o estudo destaca a relação entre fatores socioeconômicos e diabetes, advertindo a sua prevalência em populações vulneráveis. A revisão também enfatiza a importância da educação em saúde, abordando nutrição e tratamento dietoterápico. Fatores mais subjetivos também foram ressaltados, como apoio social, que é crucial, considerando barreiras como idade e situação financeira.
