UNWANTED FRACTURE IN ORTHOGNATHIC SURGERY: CLINICAL CASE REPORT

Sagittal Osteotomy of the Mandibular Branch is a technique used to perform planned fractures in the Mandible during the surgical treatment of corrections of dento-facial deformities. However, at the time of separation of the bone stumps, a fracture different from that planned may occur, disrupting the osteosynthesis process, and which can sometimes interfere with the final result of the patient's ortho-surgical treatment. The present work will report a case of unwanted fracture during a Sagittal Osteotomy, which was treated conservatively, with a very satisfactory final result.
