Abstract

To analyze the scientific evidence on the factors associated with maternal mortality due to placental abruption during pregnancy. Methods: This is an integrative review, carried out in December 2022, using the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) digital library, the Virtual Health Library (VHL) for the Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences databases (LILACS) and Nursing Database (BDEnf), in addition to the following health databases: Scopus, PUBMED and Embase, the Boolean operators were used in the databases: AND and OR. The results were obtained through management with the Rayyan 16 QCRI application and were structured in PRISMA flowcharts, classified by level of methodological evidence. Results: 1,177 articles were found in the databases, which were selected, totaling 8 articles that make up the sample. These correspond to 1.2% of the total sample of studies, there was a greater number of publications in 2014 with three studies, two studies were carried out in France, the most used methodology was retrospective cohort, the level of scientific evidence was moderate. Final considerations: Given the analysis of the causes of premature abruption that are not yet well defined, we can highlight: hypertensive disorders, multiparity, age >35 years and low socioeconomic status
