Abstract

Covid-19, caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, has emerged as a global pandemic, impacting public health, economies and societies around the world. Covid-19, in addition to its characteristic respiratory symptoms, has also been shown to have significant impacts on the cardiovascular system. In view of this, the study was carried out with the aim of elucidating the cardiovascular damage caused by Covid-19. To develop this literature review, searches were carried out in the SciELO, PubMed and VHL databases.  The search for related works was carried out using the descriptors "Cardiovascular Damage" and "Post Covid-19" in Portuguese and English. As a result, the main cardiovascular damages were hemorrhagic cardiac tamponade, fulminant cardiogenic shock, right ventricular failure, acute pericarditis, acute myocarditis and, above all, acute myocardial infarction. We therefore conclude that it is extremely important to monitor this damage in order to further reduce the impact on patients' quality of life.
