RESUMO
A Covid-19 tem se mostrado particularmente severa para os idosos, exacerbando condições pré-existentes e aumentando a taxa de mortalidade, especialmente entre aqueles com comorbidades como hipertensão, diabetes e doenças cardiovasculares. Além dos impactos diretos na saúde física, como falência multiorgânica e complicações respiratórias, os idosos também enfrentam riscos elevados de complicações neurológicas e um declínio na saúde mental devido ao isolamento social e à falta de contato humano. A vulnerabilidade dessa população requer uma abordagem integrada e cuidadosa, incluindo intervenções médicas imediatas e políticas públicas eficazes, para mitigar os efeitos adversos e preservar a qualidade de vida dos idosos durante e após a pandemia. Avaliando a importância sobre o tema, esse trabalho teve como principal objetivo relatar a importância da assistência farmacêutica no cuidado do idoso durante a pandemia e no período pós-pandemia de Covid-19 em garantir a saúde e o bem-estar dessa população. A metodologia usada foi uma revisão da literatura baseada em uma abordagem qualitativa, usando as plataformas digitais National Library of Medicine (PubMed), Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS), National Library of Medicine (MEDLINE), Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (LILACS) e Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO), para a pesquisa das obras disponíveis. Das 426 obras selecionadas apenas 10 artigos foram inclusos nas análises sistemáticas, e a partir deles foi criado uma tabela com dados importantes acerca dos trabalhos. E foi possível observar através dos estudos onde eles oferecem uma visão abrangente e detalhada dos inúmeros desafios enfrentados pela população idosa durante a pandemia de Covid-19. Esses desafios, que variam desde o agravamento das desigualdades sociais e econômicas até o aumento da mortalidade devido a comorbidades e complicações neurológicas, ressaltam a vulnerabilidade dos idosos em tempos de crise. Além disso, o impacto profundo na saúde mental causado pelo isolamento social sublinha a necessidade urgente de estratégias específicas para preservar o bem-estar dessa população.
