Resumo

Apesar dos avanços no tratamento de doenças cardíacas, a cirurgia cardíaca ainda é essencial para tratar certas condições. Em casos específicos, o diabetes mellitus pode aumentar o risco de complicações durante o período perioperatório. Este estudo teve como objetivo identificar e avaliar os potenciais riscos e eventos associados ao DM em pacientes submetidos a cirurgia cardíaca. A pesquisa foi realizada em bases de dados como PubMed, Cochrane Library e Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde, incluindo estudos originais de 2019 a 2021, de natureza qualitativa ou quantitativa, disponíveis online.Estudos duplicados, teses, livros e aqueles que não se encaixavam na pergunta de pesquisa foram removidos da análise. Entre os resultados encontrados, aproximadamente 58% dos estudos analisaram o período pré-operatório, 8% o intraoperatório e 83% o pós-operatório. As principais comorbidades pré-operatórias foram hipertensão arterial sistêmica e doença renal. Em relação aos eventos após a cirurgia, foram observados prolongamento da internação, infecções, menor taxa de sobrevivência, hiperglicemia e lesão renal aguda. Os resultados deste estudo confirmam a ideia de que o diabetes mellitus é um fator de risco independente para complicações em cirurgias cardíacas.
