Resumo
Introdução: A insônia, definida como a dificuldade persistente para iniciar ou manter o sono, ou um sono de baixa qualidade, tem sido associada a diversos efeitos adversos sobre a saúde cardiovascular. A ativação prolongada do sistema nervoso simpático e a elevação dos níveis de cortisol podem levar ao remodelamento cardíaco adverso. Objetivo: avaliar os efeitos cardiovasculares em pacientes com insônia. Objetivo: Avaliar os efeitos cardiovasculares em pacientes com insônia. Métodos: Consiste em uma revisão integrativa realizada através das bases Scopus, PubMed® e SciELO, utilizando os descritores: insônia, eventos cardiovasculares e doença cardiovascular. Foram incluídos estudos publicados nos últimos 12 anos, em idioma inglês, espanhol ou português, que abordassem a temática. Resultados: Evidências apontam que a insônia aumenta o risco de eventos cardiovasculares, como infarto e AVC, através de mecanismos como inflamação crônica e desregulação do sistema nervoso autônomo. Considerações: Evidencia-se que Indivíduos com insônia apresentam risco aumentado de eventos e mortalidade cardiovascular, exigindo que clínicos avaliem e adaptem intervenções para esses riscos.
