Resumo

O presente estudo teve como objetivo avaliar os efeitos que os agentes clareadores caseiros e de consultório causam na superfície de esmalte erodido. Materiais e métodos: foram selecionados 50 fragmentos de esmalte de 3,0 x 5,0 x 3,0 mm, a partir de dentes anteriores bovinos, incluídos em resina acrílica autopolimerizável, lixados e polidos. Em seguida, metade de cada corpo de prova foi protegida com resina composta e serviram de área de referência. Os fragmentos foram previamente erodidos com ácido cítrico 1% foram divididos em cinco grupos: Sem Clareador - WB (controle), Clareador caseiro pH neutro - BhN (Whiteness Perfect - FGM, peróxido de carbamida 16%), Clareador caseiro pH ácido - BhA (Clariant – Angelus, peróxido de carbamida 16%) , Clareador de consultório com pH neutro - BoN (Total Blanc Office – DFL, peróxido de hidrogênio 35% ) e Clareador de consultório com pH ácido - BoA (Clareador Mix OneSupreme, peróxido de hidrogênio 35%). Foi avaliada a morfologia de superfície dentária e perfil de desgaste em Microscopia Confocal 3D. Os dados foram analisados estatisticamente por análise de variância (ANOVA) e teste Duncan ao nível de significância de 5%. Resultados: não foram observadas diferenças estatisticamente significativas na morfologia de superfície e perfil de desgaste relacionando os cinco grupos em estudo. Conclusão: Os agentes clareadores caseiros e de consultório com diferentes pH não causam alteração na superfície do esmalte previamente erodido.
