Resumo

 

Com o uso de implantes em odontologia, a reabilitação oral tornou-se mais simples e agradável para o paciente, porém em casos de reabilitação total a dificuldade de tratamentos ainda era um problema, principalmente em casos de pacientes maxilotecmizados, e que tinham grandes perdas osseas, como em casos de traumas e tumores, por isso o professor Branemak em 1989 criou os implantes zigomaticos, como alternativas para os pacientes que não podiam ser reabilitados com enxertos e levantamento de seio.
