Abstract
A narrative review of the literature was carried out with a search in the PubMed database. The search was carried out using the keywords “Infertility” and “Obesity”. Systematic reviews and randomized controlled studies from the last ten years in English and Portuguese were selected for analysis. In the end, studies focusing on the relationship between obesity and female infertility were selected for the theoretical basis of the work. In addition to this source, books and scientific publications from Gynecology and Obstetrics journals were included in the review. Data from the researched literature show that obesity is associated with a series of metabolic changes that can harm female reproductive function both through effects on the menstrual cycle and through changes in endometrial receptivity.
